Superintendent

Dr. Michael Barber has more than 30 years of experience in Alabama public education. He has held the positions of classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. Dr. Barber has been recognized by the School Superintendents of Alabama Association by receiving the Power of One Award for his efforts in the passage of laws addressing student safety. He has also been recognized by his peers as the District 6 Superintendent of the Year and their nominee for State Superintendent of the Year. Dr. Barber has a passion for creating opportunities for children. He believes all students should have a pathway to success through future Employment, Enlistment, or Enrollment.
