Jacksonville City Schools welcomes new superintendent Mike Howard

We're excited to announce that after wonderful interviews with our five candidates, the Jacksonville City Schools Board of Education selected Dr. Mike Howard to become the new superintendent of our school district!

Howard previously served as superintendent of St. Clair County Schools, principal at St. Clair County High School, assistant principal at Oak Mountain High School, taught special education and coached football, softball, wrestling, track and golf.

We hope to see him start his new role with JCS by the end of this month. Stay tuned for more!
