New Dual Enrollment Opportunities

We’re pleased to announce that we’re expanding our dual enrollment program with a variety of career tech programs from Gadsden State Community College. Students can register as early as next month for the 2022-23 school year.

We’ve long had dual enrollment opportunities with Jacksonville State University focused on academic preparation for college. These new Gadsden State programs provide a smart way to graduate directly into the workforce, giving students hands-on experience for high-demand careers such as welding, mechatronics, HVACR and auto body repair – often paired with a job in the relevant industry even before graduation.

Students are eligible to enroll as early as their sophomore year, and thanks to scholarships from the Advanced College Enrollment Institute and funding provided by the Jacksonville City Schools Board of Education, many of the programs can be attended with free tuition. Jacksonville City Schools will provide transportation to and from Gadsden State’s Ayers Campus in Golden Springs.

Representatives from Gadsden State will join us March 3 at the high school to show students in grades nine to 11 the full breadth of opportunities available, and we’d like to invite parents to join them during those sessions (times will be announced nearer to the date).
