Seven JCS students pose with a trophy

Pictured L-R: Laurellei Veasey (JCS alumni, troupe stage manager) Sophie Shealy (8th grade), Kenley Fike (10th grade), Bryson Doss (5th grade), Sawyer Shealy (10th grade), Reagan Simmons (10th grade), Londyn Simmons (6th grade).

Students from Kitty Stone Elementary and Jacksonville High School worked with CAST Theatre to compete at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta this weekend, with our own JCS nurse Judy Shealy directing music!

The festival is an international competition that brought 110 theatre troupes from three countries, including the United Kingdom and Australia, and 28 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.

The group won the festival's award for Excellence in Music, and Sawyer Shealy and Kenley Fike, two JHS students, were recognized as "all-stars" from the CAST troupe by the event's judges.

Congratulations to everyone! We're so proud of the work y'all have done!
