Eligibility Criteria
Students submitting an application for enrollment in JVA, must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
- Have adequate consistent, daily internet access
- Have consistent transportation to JCS schools for required proctored course assessments, benchmark assessments, and state standardized testing
- Students in grades 1-6 must be on grade level per the school’s adopted reading and math benchmark assessments
- Students in grades 9-12 must be on track to graduate with the appropriate number of course credits
- Meet the following minimum grade requirements:
- 1st Grade: A score of mastery on all critical standards during the previous school year
- Grades 2-6: A minimum average core (reading, language, math, science, and social studies) GPA of a 75 for the previous school year
- Grades 7-12: A minimum average core (math, English, science, social studies) GPA of a 75 for the previous school year
- Have no more than 9 unexcused absences during the previous school year
- Have no Class II or higher disciplinary infractions during the previous school year
- Have no suspensions during the previous school year
- If a student has been removed from JVA, he/she must wait until the next school year to re-apply.
