Curricular and Instructional Philosophy

The curricular and instructional philosophy centers around the mission of the Jacksonville City School District to prepare students for a successful life. We believe students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful life beyond the PreK-12 school setting when they are actively engaged in rigorous and relevant learning opportunities facilitated by caring and highly qualified educators.  All instruction in Jacksonville City Schools is aligned with the Alabama College and Career Ready Standards and supported by innovative technology.   Lessons are designed to promote critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity to build the students’ capacity to solve complex real-life problems.
